The Collegiate Sports Video Association announces the winners for the annual SAVVY awards at its National conference.

There are four SAVVY award categories, motivational, highlight, recruiting, and short social.  The winner of each category is then nominated for the Ultimate SAVVY Award. Winners for each category are selected by receiving the most votes from CSVA voting members. In order to be considered for these awards, each video submitted must meet specific criterion. The CSVA Executive Board would like to thank everyone who submitted videos for consideration in the SAVVY award competition.

RECRUITING CATEGORY WINNER

2019 - Penn State

This year’s winner for the Recruiting SAVVY Award is Blake Newsock from Penn State University for the video titled, “The Process VI.”

Newsock, Assistant Video Director – Production,  was assisted by Nick Miller, Matt Stephens, Shane Robinson, Brett Michaud and Justin Donnelly with shooting footage for the video. Clint Yoder assisted as audio tech for the video and Michael Hazel assisted with script writing.

HIGHLIGHT CATEGORY WINNER

2019 - Appalachian State

This year’s winner for the Highlight SAVVY Award is George Claiborne from Appalachian State University for his video “History Is Alive”.

George Claiborne, Director of Football Video Operations, created the video.

Congratulations to George Claiborne and the Appalachian State University Athletics Department on this accomplishment.

MOTIVATIONAL CATEGORY WINNER

2019 - Kentucky

This year’s winner for the Motivational SAVVY Award is Christian Fiero from the University of Kentucky with his motivational video titled, “It Takes All Of Us.”

Fiero, Coaching Video Coordinator for Football, created the video.

Congratulations to Christian Fiero and the University of Kentucky Athletics Department on this accomplishment.

SHORT SOCIAL CATEGORY WINNER

2019 - Appalachian State

This year’s winner for the Short Social SAVVY Award is George Claiborne from Appalachian State University for his video “Let It Snow”.

George Claiborne, Director of Football Video Operations, created the video.

ULTIMATE SAVVY CATEGORY WINNER

2019 - Penn State

This year’s winner of the Ultimate SAVVY award for the best overall video at the 2019 CSVA conference is Penn State.
