The Collegiate Sports Video Association announces the winners for the annual SAVVY awards at its National conference.

There are three SAVVY award categories, motivational, highlight, and recruiting.  The winner of each category is then nominated for the Ultimate SAVVY Award. Winners for each category are selected by receiving the most votes from CSVA voting members. In order to be considered for these awards, each video submitted must meet specific criterion. The CSVA Executive Board would like to thank everyone who submitted videos for consideration in the SAVVY award competition.

RECRUITING CATEGORY WINNER

2018 - Michigan State

This year’s winner for the Recruiting SAVVY Award and the Ultimate SAVVY Award is Carter Ellwood from Michigan State University for the video titled, “NFL Superhero.”

 

Ellwood, Director of Football Creative Video, created the video with Justin Martin, Matt Harper and Colin Williams.  Matt Harper, Director of Football Technology, accepted the award at the banquet.

 

Congratulations to Carter Ellwood and the Michigan State University Athletics Department on these accomplishments.  The 2019 SAVVY Award winners will be announced at the next annual CSVA Conference being held in Anaheim, California

HIGHLIGHT CATEGORY WINNER

2018 - Appalachian State

This year’s winner for the Highlight SAVVY Award is George Claiborne from Appalachian State University for his season highlight video.

George Claiborne, Director of Football Video Operations, created the video with Carson Fletcher, Emmitt Carden, Tristan Harris, Tyler Altizer and Madeline Blythe.

Congratulations to George Claiborne and the Appalachian State University Athletics Department on this accomplishment.  The 2019 SAVVY Award winners will be announced at the next annual CSVA Conference being held in Anaheim, California.

MOTIVATIONAL CATEGORY WINNER

2018 - WISCONSIN

This year’s winner for the Motivational SAVVY Award is Colin Ludema from the University of Wisconsin with his motivational video titled, “Iowa Hit Tape.”

Ludema, Assistant Football Video Coordinator, created the video with John Schaefer, Jerry Mao and Brandon Spiegel.

Congratulations to Colin Ludema and the University of Wisconsin Athletics Department on this accomplishment.  The 2019 SAVVY Award winners will be announced at the next annual CSVA Conference being held in Anaheim, California.

ULTIMATE SAVVY CATEGORY WINNER

2018 - MICHIGAN STATE

The winner of the Ultimate SAVVY award for the best overall video at the 2018 CSVA conference was  Michigan State.
