The Collegiate Sports Video Association announces the winners for the annual SAVVY awards at its National conference.

There are four SAVVY award categories, motivational, highlight, recruiting, and short social.  The winner of each category is then nominated for the Ultimate SAVVY Award. Winners for each category are selected by receiving the most votes from CSVA voting members. In order to be considered for these awards, each video submitted must meet specific criterion. The CSVA Executive Board would like to thank everyone who submitted videos for consideration in the SAVVY award competition.

RECRUITING CATEGORY WINNER

2021 - Appalachian State

This year’s winner for the Recruiting SAVVY Award is George Claiborne and Max Renfro from Appalachian State for the video titled, “Something About These Mountains.”

George Claiborne and Max Renfro created the video with help from Will Allen, Cooper Quickel, Vince Fortea, Hayden Chandler, and Jade Riles.

Congratulations to George, Max and the Appalachian State University Athletics Department on this accomplishment.

HIGHLIGHT CATEGORY WINNER

2021 - Stanford

This year’s winner for the Highlight SAVVY Award is KC Hahey of Stanford for his video “2020 Preseason Highlight”.

Hahey, the executive producer for Stanford Football Creative Video, created the video.

Congratulations to KC and the Stanford University Athletics Department on this accomplishment.

MOTIVATIONAL CATEGORY WINNER

2021 - Texas

This year’s winner for the Motivational SAVVY Award is Derek Ochoa from the University of Texas with his motivational video , “Pre OU Friday Night.”

Ochoa, Director of Media Productions, created the video.

Congratulations to Derek and the University of Texas Athletics Department on this accomplishment.

SHORT SOCIAL CATEGORY WINNER

2021 - Texas

This year’s winner for the Short Social SAVVY Award is Derek Ochoa from the University of Texas with his video , “The Total Package.”

Ochoa, Director of Media Productions, created the video.

Congratulations to Derek and the University of Texas Athletics Department on this accomplishment.

ULTIMATE SAVVY CATEGORY WINNER

2021 - Appalachian State

This year’s winner of the Ultimate SAVVY award for the best overall video at the 2021 CSVA conference is Appalachian State.

The video, “Something About These Mountains” created by George Claiborne and Max Renfro, was the winner of the Recruiting SAVVY.

Clairborne and Renfro were assisted by Will Allen, Cooper Quickel, Vince Fortea, Hayden Chandler, and Jade Riles.

Congratulations to George, Max and the Appalachian State University Athletics Department on this accomplishment.
